Q.1         What is covered under Third party policy?

Ans.       Accidental injury/death to third party, property damage

Q.2         Does it cover any accidental damage of the insured vehicle?

Ans.       No, it covers damage happened only to the third party

Q.3         Whether third party policy can be taken for all types of vehicles?

Ans.       Yes, it can be taken for all vehicles which are registered

Q.4         Whether third party policy can be taken for a 15 year old vehicle?

Ans.       Yes, currently system accepts only those vehicles which are registered on or after 1950.

Q.5         What all documents are required for issuing a Third party policy?

Ans.       Previous policy copy (Optional) & Vehicle RC copy (Mandatory)

Q.6         What is a break in insurance case?

Ans.       Break in case refers to those vehicles which don’t have a valid insurance. If the previous insurance policy has lapsed then it’s called a break in case, there will be cases where there won’t be any previous policy also.

Q.7        Will the premium change with respective to age of the vehicle?


Ans.       No, premium won’t change with the age of the vehicle but it depends on the category of vehicle and engine capacity within each category. A premium chart will be provided for your readymade reference of premium.

Q.8        Before how many days we can issue a policy?

Ans.       We can issue a policy before 90 days of policy expiry For example if policy expires on October 15th, you can issue a policy after August 15th. New policy start date will be next day of the existing policy date.

Q.9         What would be policy start day if it is a break in case?

Ans.       If policy is break in the policy start date will be next date of policy issue date.

Q.10       Is there any coverage for owner and driver?

Ans.       Yes, there is coverage for owner and driver, (1 lac coverage for two wheeler and 2 lacs for other vehicles)

Q.11      Can policy be issued 24*7 at CSC?

Ans.       Yes, It’s a on line policy issuance, CSC can issue any day any time.
