e-Shram Card Registration: So far 11 crore unorganized workers of the country have been registered on the e-shram portal for e-Shram Card Registration. Interested persons who have not yet registered them selves for e-Shram Card can do so by logging on to the official website of E Shram Card at e-Shram Card Registration or by simply visiting nearest Common Service Center (CSC) with requisite documents. Recently the Directorate General of Labor Welfare (DGLW) has recently released its official Twitter handle which has tweeted that about 11 crore e-Shram Card Registration on the E Shram Portal has already been achieved. The tweet said, “The first ever national database of unorganized workers in the country is creating history everyday. Congratulations to 11 crore unorganized workers on this achievement.

The central government prepared a national database for the unorganized workers for the overall welfare of these crores of workers of the country. The E Shram Portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and the government would provide the workers with the E Shram Card. Once Government of India as already provided E Shram Card, then beneficiaries must know the advantages of e-Shram Card Registration. Now, the workers should also know about the Pradhan Mantry Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) scheme. According to the financialservices.gov.in, the scheme is available for people in the age group of 18 to 70 years who have a bank account, who can join/ enable auto-debit on or before May 31 for the coverage period from June 1 by giving your consent Up to 31st May on annual renewal basis.

e-Shram Card Registration : AADHAAR KYC

Aadhaar will be the primary KYC for the bank account. The risk coverage under the scheme to the laborer is Rupees 2 lakh for accidental death and total disability and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability. A premium of Rupees. 12 per annum is to be deducted from the account holder's bank account through 'auto-debit' facility in one installment (E Shram Portal). e-Shram Card benefits by opting PMSBY Registration: E-Shram card holders will get Rupees 2-2 lakhs, know its process by opting for PMSBY.

The workers who have not yet registered on this E Shram Portal can do so by following some simple steps. They are as follows:

  • First Log on to the official website eshram.gov.in
  • Click on the link 'Register on e-SHRAM' present on the home page
  • Enter Aadhar Linked Mobile Number and Captcha Code and Click on Send OTP
  • Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process

It may be noted that in case a laborer does not have an Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/she can visit the nearest CSC and do the e-Shram Card Registration through biometric authentication. In case of any query or more details, interested persons can log on to the official website of E Shram Card at e-Shram Card Registration Portal.

Know these details about e-Shram Card Registration

In case of any query regarding E Shram Card, one can call on National Helpline number 14434. It is to be noted that e-Shram Card Registration is available on E Shram Portal or through nearest CSC. You can update your details also, once registered, a laborer can visit the e-shram portal or nearest CSC to update their particular details like mobile number, current address, occupation, educational qualification, skill type, family details and others. 

Workers should be aware to update photo on E Shram Portal, at the time of registration, photo is pulled from Aadhar services so provision of updating photo is not available. However, if the photo of the laborer is updated in Aadhaar, the same will be displayed on the Shram Card portal as well as the Aadhaar authenticator.

Eligibility for e-Shram Card Registration

  1. Should be between 16 to 59 years.
  2. Should not be a member of PF
  3. Should not be a member of ESIC
  4. Shoul not be Income Tax Payer
  5. Should have AADHAAR linked Mobile Number
  6. AADHAAR Card or AADHAAR number
  7. Bank Account Details alongwith IFSC Code
  8. Details of nominee alongwith Date of Birth

About e-Shram Portal 

The e-shram portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and the government also provides e-shram cards to the workers. One must be aware of the various benefits of registering in this e-shram portal. After E Shram Card registration, the unorganized worker will get accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh under PMSBY. In future, all social security benefits of unorganized workers will be distributed through this E Shram Portal. In situations like emergency and national pandemic, this labor database can be used to provide necessary support to the eligible unorganized workers.
