Good News: UHBVN Consumers will Get Incentive Money for Paying Electricity Bill Online. Yes you heard right! Recently Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has announced to give incentive amount to rural consumers upon paying electricity bills online (digitally). Consumers may like to make digital payment of electricity bills through their Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Mobile Wallet Applications like CSC Digital Service Portal, BBPS, Paytm and Amazon Pay etc.
Digitization Vision of Government of Haryana through Digital Payment of Electricity Bills
Taking ahead the digitization vision of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has started a scheme to give incentive amount to rural consumers on digital payment of their bills on the lines of cities on UHBVN Web Portal
Spokesperson of the UHBVN corporation said that under the Chief Minister's Maha Gaon-Jagmag Gaon scheme, more than 75 percent villages of the state are being supplied 24 hours electricity. He said that the main objective of this scheme is to encourage rural consumers to make digital payments. Initiation of Digital payments will not only save the time of the consumers but as well as benefit them. Electricity Consumers can make digital payment of electricity bills through their Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Mobile Wallet Applications like CSC Digital Service Portal, BBPS, Paytm and Amazon Pay etc.
The spokesman said that for the first time digital payment of electricity bills by rural consumers, Rupees 20 would be given as incentive. After this, on making digital payment of electricity bill up to Rupees 2000, an incentive amount of 0.5 percent of the bill amount (up to a maximum of Rupees 10) will be given. Apart from this, an incentive amount of Rupees 50 will be given for digital payment of 6 consecutive bills by the electricity consumer. Panchayats of villages having more than 90 percent electricity bill payment and more than 90 percent of them through digital medium will be honored by the UHBVN corporation by giving an amount of Rupees 2 lakh, which can be spent on development works of the village.
From each sub-division, 5 consumers will be selected for making digital payments on a quarterly basis and each subscriber will be awarded an amount of Rupees 2100. The Electricity consumers will be selected by lottery system in the presence of the sub-divisional officer at the village school / chaupal / panchayat ghar or any other public place. The selected consumer will be given a citation issued by the Managing Director of the UHBVN corporation as a mark of respect.
